Mr. Lazarakis joined our Board of Directors in July 2015 after retiring from the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP after almost 38 years with the firm and one of its predecessors, Arthur Young & Company. Mr. Lazarakis was one of the most experienced assurance partners in Ernst & Young’s Northern California Technology practice prior to his retirement and served technology companies, ranging from large multinationals to smaller, pre-public growth companies and venture-backed start-up entities. He served as coordinating partner on more than 40 public technology companies including networking, software, internet, Software as- a Service and semiconductor companies. Mr. Lazarakis’ areas of particular expertise include finance, mergers and acquisitions, internal controls, risk management and auditing.

    Mr. Goergen joined Digi International in April 2015, as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Prior to joining Digi he served as Senior Vice President – Finance of the Transport/Logistics division of Trimble Navigation Limited from April 2013 to March 2015. From June 2007 to April 2013, Mr. Goergen served as Chief Financial Officer of PeopleNet Communications. PeopleNet was acquired by Trimble in 2011. Prior to his role as Chief Financial Officer of PeopleNet, he served since 1997 in various financial roles at PeopleNet.

      Mr. Sampsell joined our company in April 2011 as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Prior to joining us, Mr. Sampsell worked as corporate counsel at ADC Telecommunications, Inc. from December 1999 until March 2011. His most recent role at ADC was as Associate General Counsel overseeing corporate transactions and securities law compliance. Prior to joining ADC, Mr. Sampsell was an attorney in private practice with Leonard, Street and Deinard, P.A. in Minneapolis from 1996 to 1999 and Moore & Van Allen, PLLC in Charlotte, NC from 1993 to 1996.

        Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
        Mr. Liebl joined our company in October 2013 as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. He brings extensive experience in growing venture-backed and technology-oriented B2B companies. Prior to joining us, Mr. Liebl served as Vice President Sales and Marketing for TST Media, a Cloud-based SaaS and e-commerce firm. From September 2006 to February 2012, he worked at eBureau, a venture capital-backed predictive analytics and data services firm, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. From 2001 to 2006, Mr. Liebl served as Vice President Global Marketing & Product Management for global telecommunications software provider Ubiquity Software, which conducted a successful IPO in 2005 and was later acquired by Avaya.
