New Appointments Bring Proven Track Records of Growth and Innovation to IoT Marketplace Leader
MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Digi International® Inc. (NASDAQ: DGII) (www.digi.com) a leading global provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity products and services, today announced that Scott Wilken has been appointed Vice President of Technology and Scott Nelson has been appointed Vice President of Product.
As Vice President of Technology, Wilken is responsible for product development and delivering technical leadership to Digi staff while spearheading innovative technology solutions for customers. Wilken most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of KING where he was responsible for Research and Innovation, Product Development and Information Technology. Wilken rebuilt the company's development operations and defined an IoT-focused product roadmap. Prior to KING, Wilken was the CTO of MultiTech Systems where he led all technology units and focused on creating systems to maximize the company's innovation. Before MultiTech Systems, Wilken spent 13 years with Logic PD, ultimately in a Vice President of Engineering role. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Dakota State University.
As Vice President of Product, Nelson is responsible for directing the vision, strategy and roadmaps of the product business in collaboration with Research and Development, Sales and Operations. He will work closely with customers and marketing to understand needs and trends to drive business growth. Nelson, known for new market identification and solution development, will bring a wealth of M2M and IoT experience. Nelson was most recently CTO and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at SkyWater Technology Foundry, and CEO and CTO of Reuleaux Technology, LLC. At SkyWater, he led strategy, growth and new offering development. At Reuleaux he advised companies on strategy and new business development in the IoT marketplace. Previously, Nelson spent more than 15 years with Logic PD, ultimately in the role of CTO and Executive Vice President of Enterprise Growth. Prior to joining Logic PD, Nelson worked as Home Vision Director for Honeywell's Home and Building Controls division. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Physics/Mathematics/Computer Science from St. Olaf College, followed by a Master of Science and then Ph.D., both in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University. He also achieved Doctoral Minors in Business Administration and Physical Chemistry while at Cornell.
