Digi International Announces New CEO

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Digi International (Nasdaq: DGII) today announced that it has elected Mr. Joseph T. Dunsmore as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Dunsmore also joins the Company's Board of Directors, and replaces John P. Schinas who has been the interim President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Schinas will remain Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Dunsmore leaves Lucent Technologies, Inc. where he was serving as Vice President of Access for Lucent Microelectronics. Before joining Lucent Technologies, Mr. Dunsmore was Chief Executive Officer of NetFax, Inc. in Buffalo Grove, Ill. His experience also includes three years with 3COM where he served as Vice President of New Business Units (US Robotics) and Vice President - Product Management & Marketing where he was responsible for the X2 56K Modem Program. Prior to joining 3COM, Mr. Dunsmore spent several years at AT&T Paradyne Corporation in Largo, Florida where he held various marketing management positions. Mr. Dunsmore holds a BA from the University of Northern Iowa and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology.
